Hello All,
I would like to build a fly rod to use to use in my kayak. I fish mainly for smallmouth bass here in NS. I've pretty much decided on an 8 foot 5 weight, 4 piece configuration. I would like the action of the rod to be somewhere between the Sage SP and the All Star Austin series. I'd like to hear any suggestions or advice people have. Thanks for your time and assistance. Cheers, Jeff Re: Blank suggestions

I used an 8' 5-weight for smallmouth for many years. A couple years back, I switched to an 8'5" model and like it even better.
There are so many good choices. I've used the Lamiglas Perigee, Rainshadow RX7, St. Croix Legend Ultra (old style - my favorite), CTS Affinity, Burkeheimer, AS Austin and Loomis and like them all very much. I tend to fish with the St. Croix most often now but not because it's better, rather because it just seems to suit me best. .......... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
