Hi I'am looking for a reel seat for a 6ft 3wt fly rod that will match the Batson Chameleon guides or the American tackle holographic guides.even if i could get a skeleton to match. American Tackle got a graphite spinning reel seat skeleton would it work for a fly rod. I would like to have metal if possible.thank you.

I think Pac Bay had a seat that matched their Illusion guides earlier in the year, or maybe last year in their Spectrum series of products. They may be some around somewhere. Re: reel seat

American tackle has it, but the colorizing you want is only on the hoods on their spin reel seat and the barrel is not metal as you wished for but graphite. They may make a an all metal fly seat that is colorized more, you might have to bend out the hoods ever so slightly to get slightly more reel foot engagment, but I have fished for years with spin reels in fly seats , you just have to double tighten the seat down. The second time after a few casts, But the fly seats are usually of a smaller O.D. 18mm is most comfortable but you may need oversize dia. cork (1-1/4") to make it look right at the transitions Re: reel seat

The AmTak seats also come as skeletons so you can add whatever insert you wish. Only size 16 and 18 though, but for a fly rod, 16 will do just fine. Re: reel seat

Make a cork insert, maybe? Ralph If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again. Re: reel seat

If he used one of the skeleton seats and added a Putter metal flake job wouldn't it be pretty close. No expert here, just thought there was a lot of possiblities with what Putter displayed at the NW Rodbuilding get together. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
