Could someone help me. I'm getting ready to wrap my second casting blank and I can't remember which side of the spine I should put the guides on.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ron Re: casting rod guide placement

I would forget the spine and use the straitest axis of the blank with the belly of any curve on the bottome. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: casting rod guide placement

It really doesn't matter. Just for fun, why not tape them up on both sides and then go out and cast and retrieve a bit and see if you prefer one over the other. Try it the way Mike suggests as well and in 30 minutes you'll know which way will be best for you.

When test casting I would use surgical tubbing to hold the guides. This way you can adjust the guide placement and if needed add a extra guide. I hate playing with tape
