Can anyone tell me how tom Kirkman made the "pearl handle and trim" pictured in the photo gallery of the volume 7 ussue 6 of RodMaker. I assumed that it was made with the same process as marbleing so I have been experimenting on wooden dowels looking for the same affect. I think this is a most beutiful affect Tom and really want to learn the process. regular marble technices have not given me the desired affect as the lines between colors are just too defined for me. Unless i am mistaken the pearl pictured seems to blend the colors and it all seems to run together. As usual Tom you seem to be my Guru teach me. Thank you Billy Re: pearl handle

Billy,
If I remember correctly, that is a corian type of material that Tom turned down on a lathe. It is not marbelling. Re: pearl handle

It's a piece I turned from a section of countertop material that a friend gave me. Some sort of high density plastic or something. Wish I could get more just like it. I found it far superior to any of the pen turning materials. It's not corian, but something similar I assume.
