Don't know if I had read this on this forum or what, but I think that someone had done some experimenting by using pennies and came up with 43 cents does that seem like a fare amount for adjustment for a thread tentioner on a Rod Smith wrapper?? All 2 cents honord thanks; <<< DON AT HOBBY RODS >>> Re: 43 cents worth ???

Kind of depends on what you are doing. I use 4,6 and 8 ounces. Re: 43 cents worth ???

Using the same pennies as used for CCS, I get a tension of about 35 pennies with Gudebrod 'A' thread, Sulky thread, and Persalls Gossamer silk. I hang a baggie of pennies from the table over a drink can to set the tension. 43 cents is in the ballpark. If I guesstimate and then weigh the tension I get a range from 29 to 45 pennies. This bears no relation to the CCS test. It only uses the same pennies because they are handy. Ralph If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again.
