There are some earlier suggestions by Mr. K about other non metallic materials for guide frames. If one of the manufacturers is interested in "snooping" and using technology for product improvement this will be a good place to start!
Maybe the race to victory of the guide fame will start today! [www.tstar.com] Gon Fishn Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/07/2006 08:22AM by Bill Stevens. Re: Guide Frames

Bill,
Many of us have been saying for years (if not decades) that a material improvement in guide frames would be a great advancement. However I don't think you'll see this development out of the U.S. Unfortunately, there are no guide manf. in the United States, only importers who bring guides in from asia mostly. I'd be surprised if Fuij hasn't experimented with some sort of nylon or delrin frame material. Maybe the folks at Angler's Resource have some insight into what's being done at the Fuji plant. Fuji has experimented with other materials....with the LWRG's. Still there is some metal, and it's not a ringed guide, but it is a little out of the standard box. Re: Guide Frames

Ooops...in my previous post, I meant to say "there are no ceramic guide manf." in the states. I would suppose the guys at REC could manage something like this. I like their Recoils a lot...I just wish they had a ceramic ring on the spin/cast guides.
