Drop Shot casting rod?

Wazup all! I wanted to ask for another suggestion on a blank. I just finished my first spin rod, my Loomis 820DS with RECOIL guides. It came out really nice, and has done well so far in my first tourney of the year. But I also discovered I need a heavier DS rod! After fishing with a buddy this weekend, I found out that my new rod is good enough for most of what I fish, like some of the real deep, clear reservoirs we have locally but with hardly any real cover to speak of. But now I want to expand and build a rod for heavier stuff. No always different weights sizes, you see, but cover like tules and thicker brush. Obviously, I would need a blank with a soft tip and a butt section that would "lock up" to keep the fish from headin' back into the cover. Any suggestions? Any help would be awesome! Any of the CTS Extra Fast Action models in the med/hvy to hvy actions will serve your purpose very well....super light, disctinct lock-up, and very strong, with lively tips.
If you need more info. please email or call me at 210-845-7456 Best Regards, Andy Dear Lamar Fishing Products Re: Drop Shot casting rod?

St. Croix MXF blank. 5C68MXF or 5S63MXF are the top of the line choices. Re: Drop Shot casting rod?

Rainshadow ISB822.5 also makes a fine dropshot rod, very similar action and power to the 5C68MXF mentioned above in an IM6 blank. It would be very close to the St Croix in the 3C graphite. The CTS blanks mentioned by Andy would be an awesome rod, the XF I built on Andy's blank was one of the best rods I've ever had leave the shop. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
