Has anyone used waterproof woodworking (yellow glue) for gluing up cork rings?
No mixing and much easier to sand. Would be to make pre-formed grip, then epoxy grip to blank. Re: Gluing Cork

Larry,
I have neen using Titebod II and more recently Titebond III for many years. It's not really any easier to sand, but is definately cheaper and there is no mixing required....great stuf. Andy Dear Lamar Fishing Re: Gluing Cork

Larry, There have been a multitude of threads on bonding agents used in glueing up handles and a search on gluing cork will give you a very long reading list.
In a nutshell, yes you can use "carpenters" glue to glue up cork rings. I use Titebond III, which is waterproof, very succesfully. Other builders also use Rod Bond and acclaim great success with this product, which I recomend to glue up the finnished grip to the blank. If you get into EVA and inlays, Weldwood Contact Cement works good, just be certain the parts are where you want them, since contact between two parts is final, and can't be seperated. Also, gluing cork to EVA, Rod Bond is recomended. Have fun. Re: Gluing Cork

Titebond III is a very good glue for cork. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
