Loose reel seat?

How would I fix a loose reel seat? The rod is an old Garcia spining, and my favorite, so I really dont want to throw it away. The rear and fore grip are tight on the blank, but the reel seat can spin all the way around. Do I need to get the rear grip off and then re epoxoy? How would I get the rear grip off? Is there an easier way to do it? I just finished my first fly rod, so I have some idea of what to do. I started noticeing the wobble the end of last season. I went to put line on the reel, to find I have a spinning reel seat.

Thanks in advance ;)

Drill a hole in the seat (don't go into the blank) and fill with epoxy. That will take care of it.

if you can gain access to the void under the reel seat you can angle a syringe (1-1/2" needle) full of 90 min epoxy through a pit in the front and rear grip cork.

We'd recommend the syringe & epoxy technique, we have the larger syringe needed:

i had the exact same problem and i fixed it the way Mike b said to. if you drill a couple of small holes where your reel is going to sit in the seet then the reel covers the holes up and nobuddy knows that they are there but you. However DO NOT HIT THE BLANK doing so will weaken it and someday you might end up with a two piece. Be careful and take your time. good luck

I have drilled about a 3/8" hole. Then take a sharp opjest and as you turn the seat try to clean as much out as possible. After filling the seat, I would over fill. When dry I take a file and make threads in the epoxy. Color with a marker as close as you can get.
It almost disapears.
