Picture in butt cap end

I've been installing coins in butt caps to fill in the mandrel holes, but I'm wondering if anyone has put a picture cut-out in place instead (meaning I would print out a picture, cut it out, and place overtop of the hole). If anyone has done this, is there a particular way in which they go about the process? I'm assuming I would bore a hole in the butt end, attach picture w/ 2 part epoxy, and then finish with finish epoxy. I'm particularly worried about the picture fading.
Thanks in advance for the help. Re: Picture in butt cap end

It's been covered in RodMaker.
You'd recess the end of your grip and glue the photo in the recess. You would need to protect the photo with some CP or clear acrylic spray. Then, fill the recess with epoxy and allow to cure. Any photo kept outside will eventually fade. The butt area of our rods doesn't usually take direct sunlight, or at least not very much. I think it would likely stay pretty decent for a few years. Of course, this all depends on the photo type and how much sunlight it gets exposed to. ............. Re: Picture in butt cap end

I would stay away from the pictures made with ink jet printers. Ink from the ink jet printers fade very, very quickly. Regards......Doug@ TCRds Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
