On the two offshore rods you posted recently with a total of 4 weaves, and split diamond guide underwraps (10-12 guides?) about how many manhours would you estimate you put into this set of rods? Really high test stuff IMHO.

Mike,
I never tried to keep track cause I did them over a period of about 4 months whenever the mood would strike me. but each weave took an average of 4-5 hours. Each split diamond under each guide probably averaged 2-3 hours with finish etc-did them one at a time.
so.... the 765H for my son with 6 guides and the two hardest weaves probably took around 30 hours total. Pretty quick considering that old dragon guy spends two or three times that on one weave!!!! The weaves on my sons rod are 70 and 60 threads and one of those would be my project for the day.

Man 4 or 5 hours for a weave. Most of the time it takes me longer than that just to set up the threads in the loom. I hear you on the "whenever the mood strikes me" though. For me it's "whenever the spirit moves me". I just figured out that I've been working on the Fire Dragon since last October and I probably have at least another month to go. Sure hope the Color Preserver does it's work.
