Hi everyone, I've rather clumsily managed to snap the tip section on my 905-3 Sig V. Dan from DanCraft is looking to see if he has one but he doesn't think he has due to the change to the 4pce blanks. Has anyone got a spare tip section for my favourite rod in the Matte Clear finish? Obviously all costs and postage will be covered.
Thanks Daniel Re: Five Rivers Sig V

Daniel, if all else fails, have you considered repairing the tip? Providing the break is clean, it is fairly easy to make and glue in a hidden spigot join by using a section from a smaller diametre blank with a lower modulus graphite. Also, with a clean break, you lose very little of the original blank when squaring up each side of the break and you don't have to rebind the tip to boot! My son broke the tip of his 904-3 Sig V last season and has since caught dozens of fish up to 4 pounds on his repaired tip with no ill effects whatsoever (and the repair is barely visible aside from a short section of binding and thin coat of epoxy). I repair lots of fly rods this way and am yet to have one fail at the repair. I feel the advent of loop to loop line to leader joins to be the biggest single cause of broken hi performance fly rods nowadays, because they get caught when excited anglers spot a rising fish and try to pull the loops through in a hurry - snap! Needless to say, I tend to prefer the old needle knot. Good luck, Jim. Re: Five Rivers Sig V

I feel your pain, that is a great blank. I broke one on a 906-3 last year but luckily Dan still had replacements. Re: Five Rivers Sig V
