Thread color suggestions for matrix blank

Getting ready to start a bass rod (for personal use) to be built on a AmTac Matrix blank. A search through the photo section only turned up a wrap of green/purple/gold which looks great but just isn't my taste.

I'd be interested in hearing your opinions on thread colors to use on this beautiful emerald green blank.

Thanks,
David

Every time I use these blanks I use the same colors...They have been spinning rods with gold framed guides...I've used a forest green ht metallic with black metallic trim bands and a thin band of gold holobraid on the end or the wraps. the green colors in the blanks are emerald and darker green shades...i think the dark green metallic thread brings out the lighter emerald tones in the blank. Makes the woven graphite pattern stand out a bit more and the wraps arent tooooo flashy.

Like Allen suggested this web site will help. On colors whatever you like that looks good to YOU. You may get a lot of " that's not my cup of tea" from your buddies but if it is pleasing to you go for it. THE FISH DON'T KNOW WHAT COLOR YOU USED (I DON'T THINK). Have a good day.

The dark green Gudebrod thread with no CP blends into the blank color very well. Chestnut with copper or gold looks nice, I prefer copper. Garnet looks good also. I've seen a flyrod done in metallic burgundy and silver that looked fantastic. There are lots of pictures in the Photo section of green blanks with different trim combos.

David,

I'm surprised no one else listed this, so I will.

The Green/Black 'classic twist' thread looks awesome on the Matrix blanks if you want it nice looking but subtle.

I'll occasionally add orange trim or inlay to it when the desire is to have the wraps stand out a bit.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the input guys! Buddy, strange you should mention the black/green classic twist thread because i just ordered some for my thread stash. I'll do a few test wraps on the handle area using some of these suggestions to see how they look.

Thanks,
David
