Ditto. But, if you don't want to do what Bill suggested, you could order a couple of fore grip pieces shape and ream to fit. Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Split grip cork

Buy the pre-made ones from Mudhole...They come in lengths of 9 to 11 or 12" or even longer. Cut you off 2 1/2" to 3" at a time and two or three pre-made handles can give you quite a few split grip handles.

Most of my rods now days are split grips. Andy's cork looks great....esp with foam or wood accents. Others have grip sets that are easier but making your own is special as well. Have a good day. Some of our customers are making split grips with 2 or 2/12 '' foregrips in front of and behind the reel seat, then a 2'" or Batson RB50 cork fighting butt for the bottom end.

What Ron suggested is right on target. I made my first few split grips just using foregrips as the rear cork, mid cork and foregrip. I usually used the 2.5" foregrips, if I remember correctly. Does a pretty good job.

I too make alot of split grip.I make my 1.5" forgrip, a 3" mid grip, and 2.5" buttcap from a 9" piece of handle. On the buttcap, epoxy a bottle cork in it. when it sets up good, i use a bench grinder and shape the corked end round. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
