Thanks to everyone. I haven't been ignoring you. Went camping & fishing with my wife, son & grandaughter and just got back. You have to get your priorities straight. I think I will flip a coin and do this rod in either blue dunn or teal with a small silver metallic trim. The solution to everything is just build more rods & I will use some glitz in the future. If the rod works well & catches fish, there is no rule that it can't have some shine. May even extend fishing time later into the twilight hours. Thanks again to all of you folks on the forum. hello mel. good to hear you have your priorities straight ;-)
if you'd like to try something a bit different, try something resembling the old jasper thread. gudebrod makes what they call Classic Twist, and for two options, it's available in black and white and black and orange. try the latter with color preserver. it'll look sharp and very interesting, nothing anybody would see from a store bought rod. i think they also offer blue and black as well as red and black. the twist pattern that develops from wrapping around the blank is very cool. eric fresno, ca. Thanks Eric,
I did a 10 wt for my brother-in-law for salmon fishing & used the red & black twist with no cp. It was subtle but still had color in strong light. Mel Ontario, OR Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
