mr cox....did you build this wrapper yourself? the aluminum base was it purchased with the tracks in it or did you mill it yourself....i absolutely love that wrapper....i am a machinist somewhat by trade and your wrapper is really impressive....i hope that you will respond so i can talk with you about some of the dimensions....thanks greg zechman gzechman@comcast.net Re: DOUG COX POWER WRAPPER

I'm sure Doug will get back in touch with you. His lathe and how it came to be, was featured in a near recent issue of RodMaker. Volume 8 #4, I think.

Just in case Doug doesn't see this thread. Try a "search" using his name and all dates. Thanks for the kind words Greg. I found the base at a local junkyard. You can see it on the makers web site [www.8020.net] item # 1530. The chuck is a Taig self-centering, drying motor and rheostat were purchased from the sponsors here. Everything else was made at home. Re: DOUG COX POWER WRAPPER

Supports are half inch square stock...base is a half inch thick, 2 inches wide, 5 inches long...rollers were machined out of quarter inch flat stock. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
