most of you will remember the saga
Finally got a buttwrap done with the 40wt maderia rayon from the uk.. as you will all remember we had a lot of confusion/discussion on the suitability of the rayons for rod building.. Well.... They are very smooth threads (almost silky to the touch) The lighter colours do need a sealer/colour preserve on.The darker colours and metallics dont need anything, imagine my surprise on the test piece when i wacked the epoxy on with no cp WANTING to see it fish eye and it wouldnt.. in conclusion. the rayon in uk is different to the US rayon and is suited to rodbuilding (well buttwraps at least I`m yet to wrap a guide with it) If any one fancys a length to compare fire me an email.. it would be nice to get others opinions on this stuff Allen Re: Madeira rayon (from UK) update

Sounds like your version is not lubricant treated for use with high speed machines. That's the reason the regular Madeira users insist on CP: it has a silicon based lube added to it. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
