I recieved a flyrod from a third party that was built by Ken Webe maybe out of California. Does anyone know anything about this rod builder? It was made in the early 80's and is a very handsome piece of craftsmenship. I am a fairly poor flyfisherman so I have never taken it from it's display case. Any information would be greatly appreciated....Ray Re: Custom Flyrod by Ken Webe

I once met a Ken Wiebe that is in the rod handle business. He is from California. Very nice friendly fellow that used to make the handles on GLoomis rods back in the 80's. I don't know if it is the same fellow. Re: Custom Flyrod by Ken Webe

That's him! I forgot the "i" in his name. This is a GLoomis blank. Re: Custom Flyrod by Ken Webe

Ken is still alive and kicking. He has been a rep for G. Loomis for many, many years and once supplied Loomis and many custom rod builders with a very nice selection of unique handles and grips. The Weibe Super Sticker is one that comes to mind.
