I was wondering if any of the North Carolina posters are familiar with the The John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC ? They offer a week long class on lathe turning that looks interesting. My wife could enroll in a cooking class and we were thinking of possibly making a vacation out of this.
I would appreciate any info. Thanks, Herb Knowlton Re: off topic- NC folk school

It's very highly regarded, as is the Penwood School also in the same area. Folks come from all over the world to attend a wide variety of week long instructional courses.

The Campbell Fork School, as Tom notes, is very highly regarded. I know they have offered classes in both fly fishing and bamboo rod making in the past. I've met Jan Davidson, the head, in the past and I know for sure that he is a fisherman.
Brasstown is in a beautiful area. It is on the other side of the Smoky Mountains where things are starting to level out again as you head towards Tenn. and GA. The only problem with that area is that you can't get there from anywhere that easily. -John Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
