Removing 2 Inch Butt Extension

Have a two inch butt extension on a AllStar 1509 that has apparently worked loose from original gluing----sweaks, crackles, etc when pressure applied. The extension runs approximately 1.5 inches into the butt. I can move it only slightly with my hand and cannot see any space to drip glue in to solidify...How can I remove it (or prevent the sweaks) without damaging the butt (and the extension as I want to reglue it)?

If you can drill a hole through the butt section from the back in, it can cause two options for you .
1- The heat from drilling will soften the epoxy and you will then be able to pull the butt extension out.
Or
2- You can then mix up some epoxy, pull it into a syringe and inject it up into the rod. Before injecting make a plug out of some cork of the size needed to plug the hole. Hold the rod almost vertical with the tip down for a little bit to insure that some of the epoxy runs past the insert part of the butt section. Should also turn the rod at the same time to insure it coats the inside diameter of the blank, so It will seep back down covering the entire gluing surface . Then turn back over and place in a corner until it cures out.

I bet if you soak it in some boiling water for a few minutes it will pop
right out.

Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it..

like raymond says hot water or a gentle blow from a hairdryer whilst gently pulling it should pop if its loose
try a drop of acetone or denatured alcohol to really soften the poxy first
