Painting blank near tip

I am building some kids' rods this summer and was interested in painting end of the blanks a bright color, or even glow-in-the-dark, to help the kids spot nibbles (and they'll think it's cool!). Can I use the standard hi-vis and glowing paints carried by Home Depot and then just cover with a coat or two of Permagloss? Will the paint tend to crack in an area that sees as much flex as the tip of a faster action rod? Re: Painting blank near tip

Not all paints flex well. Go to your local Hobby Shop and get a can of paint for flexible R/C car bodies. Testors "Pactra" works well with Perma gloss. Lots of bright colors available.
Something you might want to try that's a little "cleaner" looking is wrapping about the last inch of the tip section in Neon thread. Much less work and it's very easy to see. Mark Griffin [] C&M Custom Tackle San Dimas, California Re: Painting blank near tip
