Registration woes

I just want to mention that due the tremendous surge in board registations since we moved to a required registration system (in order to post messages) that I'm having a little trouble keeping up. We had over 4,000 registered users since the new software was installed about 18 mohnths ago, and in the past couple weeks we've added nearly another 1,200 after registration became a requirement. That sudden surge has resulted in the same percentage of difficulties, which combined with the numbers involved in such a short time, has taken a great toll on my time lately.

95% of all registration problems are due to a failure to respond to the validation email that is sent when you register. Make no mistake, that email is sent, but if you have a junk or spam mail filter then it may be blocked on your end. Please disable your junk or spam filters bedore registering on this site. The validation email is sent automatically and within seconds, so you can re-enable your mail filters just as soon as you receive the email from this site.

The other 5% comes from folks not remembering their user names (your first and last name). Use what you see on your drivers license or write down your name so you can refer to it if you have trouble logging in. (I'm not making a joke here.) Sometimes it's hard to remember if you used Al or Albert, or Ed or Edward, etc. So write it down.

Thanks.

This will save me a great deal of time.

Thanks Tom,
Now I am sure of my name.
I must have missed where it says to respond to the validation email that is sent when you register.
Keep up the good work.
