SC IV or SC III

I am looking for input on the comparisons of the SC IV blank to the new SC III blank in general.

I need a 3 and 4 weight, and am looking to compare the 7'9", 4 piece, 3 weight, and the 8', 4 piece, 4 weight in both blanks.

Thanks

It all depends on how you fish and what your needs are. The SC III will be a bit slower action and if you are fishing small streams using short to medium casting distances it will do the job at a lower price. If you want a little faster action and crisper feeling rod to reach out a bit the SC IV is the better rod in my judgement. Your personal needs should be the determining factor.

I agree with Stan. Pick the one that fits your casting distance better. I fish short to medium ranges most, so I use the SCIII quite a bit. Also, the old SCIIIs were a matte gray, which was really nice to build on, as you could do any color wraps you wanted. The SCIVs are a very strange matte green/blue. I like the SCIV rods, but I hate that color. It's very hard to build on. About the only color I've found that I like with it is brown. I haven't even seen the new SCIII blank color.

Regardless, you'll get a quality blank that you'll enjoy quite a bit.
