Guys need to come up with some new reasons to explain why I need to build another rod....LOL .

She just doesn't understand......

Seasons change and also the fishes behavior.

She needs a new pair of shoes every time she goes out, well you need a new rod every time you go out fishing.

Rods are like sex, Do we ever really have enough?

I use the excuse, Don't talk to me I've had a horrible week and all I can do that will make me feel better is to build a new rod. (Be very very stern, and unrelenting, she may even want you to build a new one)

You're thinking about writing a book on rod-building, ... but

Try this.....It's Tuesday. I only have 3 tuesday rods, and there are 4 tuesdays in the typical month.
If she golfs, it's like golf clubs. If someone understands why you need a whole bag full of them, they will understand why you need a whole bunch of fishing rods.

I say OK Dear you are right I will quit building rods and get on the couch and watch TV and drink beer. I may need a big dish for all the sports events I will be watching. It may cost more and wreck my health but it will be a replacement for rod building.

Just make a deal...Promise her a weekend away....Drive up on a Friday night...or Saturday morning. Nice place...romantic dinner...bottle of a good chablis....Room service breakfast...

If that doesn't work...Just beg!

Explain that you have become overwhelmed with deep feelings of love and devotion towards her, but because you are a stupid, pathetic Neanderthal, you are incapable of expressing these feelings in mere words, and even if you could, she deserves so much more, and better. So the only way to cure your aching heart and vent these powerful emotions is to build a rod to honor her, one that will last a lifetime. While she may view it as a mere trinket, for you it is a symbol of your love and devotion because you put your very heart and soul into it while thinking of nothing but her, and how she deserves the best you can do. You are sorry that you cannot do something different, but being the simple creature that you are, this is the only way that you can bare your heart. While another diamond is nice, it is just a store bought item, something that just doesn’t come from deep within you.

Keep going like this and after about 20 minutes she’ll get so tired of listening to this bull that she will roll her eyes and beg you to shut up and just go build the stupid thing.

Then get her some flowers and prepare to kiss up to her and be a slave for a month. It’s worth it for another rod.

Marry a gal that loves to fish, teach her the difference between store rods

and custom built, build her a rod with her name or something mushy on it,

enjoy the rest of your days fishing and building rods together!!!!!!!!!
