Does finish permeate metallic thread as well as it does regular thread? I've been using Sulky's Metallic thread to wrap my rods. Just wondering! Re: finish/metallic thread

Finish doesn't penetrat metallic thread, but it makes no difference. It doesn't penetrate CP either. The finish just doesn't play much of a role in wrap strength. It's the thread that protects binds the wrap to the blank, not the finish (which is not an adhesive but more of a casting resin). The finish protects the thread from damage. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: finish/metallic thread

The finish should still flow between your metallic threads to fill the tunnel under the guide foot. And remember, no CP is needed with metallics...that's a common question.
