Mike, I'm not saying that for some it might seem like a waste of time, not make any sense, and is totally not needed. I agree with all of that, I'm simply saying that if you don't like the texture of the blank, coating it with a couple of coats of epoxy will level it out. As far as saving a few dollars on an unfinished blank, I may have understated that. I think they were purchased 100 or so at a time, which probably was a significant savings.....of course you're right about "to each his own".

Any books that will expand my learning.I have the flex coat rod book step by step.But no others

Kenny,

Most library systems can be accessed online and specific books can be requested. If the local library doesn't have it in stock, they SHOULD be able to send out to another library system for a loaner.

Definitely ask about this. If the librarian is not helpful, ask to speak to someone who knows a bit more about how the system works. CA is big on having very good services. I'd be surprised if they can't do what our system does here in rural VA.
