CUI or Sevier Advice

I'm going to be taking a trip with my brother in law and my dad to Canada this summer. I plan to build each of use 2 spinning rods apiece. Something for smallmouth bass and something for northern pike. We all enjoy fishing but only really fish about twice each year. This is sort of a once in a while trip and I don't want to spend a huge amount of money on the blanks and stuff.
My question is about the CUI and Sevier blanks I see listed on those sites. I don't see much talk about either of them. Are they any good? I know some like the tiger eye blank from Sevier for fly rods but what about their spinning models. Any good? Also what is a CUI "put up" blank? Thanks for any response. I don't want to spend a fortune but would like decent quality blanks. Re: CUI or Sevier Advice

The CUI "put ups" are blanks that have had handles/grips already installed. All that is left to do is to space and wrap the guides. These are popular among small OEM type builders.
Both Sevier and CUI offer pretty darn good blanks. There's a ton of a reasonably priced, very nice performing blanks on the market these days. Because you asked about specific companies, all I can say is that the models offered by both Sevier and CUI are very nice and I think you'd be pretty happy with either of them. I've had a few of the Sevier Tiger Eye spinning and casting models in here and they offer a great value for the money. Good blanks all the way around, reasonably efficient and pretty tough. ............... Re: CUI or Sevier Advice

Another to look at would be the Rainshadow/Forecast spin bass (SB) 3 piece blanks for about the same price. Light or ML for the smallies, the MH would I think make a nice pike rod. Re: CUI or Sevier Advice

The Batson/ Forecast models mentioned above are great blanks, I personally built myself one of each on the 3pc 7' models. I will be taking them with me on the road when I travel to see our customers. They are all built in the spinning configuration. The SB841*CG ( RX6) is built with the Batson BVSUG guides, the SB843*3CG and the SB845*3CG are built with our new TCVS3TCG spinning guides. These will be fun rods for many different techniques. These are very durable and reasonably priced blanks, especially designed for the traveler. They all come in RX6 Graphite, finished in our Clear Gloss finish..
