There was a post a while back about wrap spacing to make closed wraps close properly and Tom had a simple way of making the calculations. I couldn't find it. Could someone post their or Tom's method for wrap spacing....or find the post? I think that's why my wraps haven't been closing like I would like them to.
Thanks, Steve Re: wrap spacing....Tom Kirkman

I measure the diameter of the blank at where the wrap will go and multiply by 3.14, that will be the basic distance between centers.
Then I figure out how many repeats and figure where the end of f the wrap will go. Then I measure the largest and smallest diameter of the blank and multiply by 3.14, and subtract the smaller from the larger and then divide that by the number of repeats. That will give me the amount that I need to adjust each repeat by. I start out with smallest distance(from the smaller diameter) by the butt section and then at each repeat I add the adjustment determined earlier. I should wind up with last one being the distance from the larger diameter. I should also mention that I use calipers to measure and layout. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
