Hi guys,
I have just been reading a post by Scott Throop where he used Mylar fly tying tinsel in the centre of a rod wrap. Could anyone please explain the technique to me? Thanks, Dave Re: Mylar Tinsel in thread wraps?

David,
Not sure how Scott does it, but when I use it, I put a band of one or two wraps on top of the finished thread wrap, or bare blank between double foots, and nail knot in place. Re: Mylar Tinsel in thread wraps?

Mick,
That´s a cool, practical way to give good use of Mylar Tinsel !!! Nail knot, would have never thought about it. Thanks! Re: Mylar Tinsel in thread wraps?

I use it just like i would use thread to do a single inlay....same tecnique. Its a little trickier because its flat vs. round, but works great. Heres how I do inlays: [www.getbentsportfishing.com] ...Just scroll down to the pics from "Finadict" (thats me). Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/30/2006 08:31AM by Scott Throop. Hi Scott,
Thanks for replying to my post. Unfortunately, I will have to register on the web site you indicate before I can view your information. I'll be doing that tommorow. I must admit that I was wondering if someone had found a method of adhering the mylar tape to the rod blank before it was coated with epoxy. I now get the impression that it is trapped under thread wraps. That sounds liike it could be a bit tricky to me. Has anyone tried to glue it in place? Thanks, Dave Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
