I am going to build a 9.6 ft 8 wt Rainshadow for a 30 year old Procaster. I have choosen a fly blank in order to acquire the proper length needed for the desired techniques (float and fly, 7-20 gr lures and light worming) and still have a 4 pc rod. Living in Norway, I pack up to the lakes often and it also keeps freight costs low!
How should I approach a spiral setup while keeping the blank's integrity? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Jim Weiss Geilo, Norway Re: Spiral setup for casting rod.....Suggestions?

I would use the Simple Spiral method. It's fast, easy and works extremely well. You won't have to learn any long or otherwise difficult techniques in order to implement it.
Do a search here on this site for more information. It has been covered many times. ............. Re: Spiral setup for casting rod.....Suggestions?

Well--
I took Tom's advice a few months back and built a few simple spirals and have been very pleased. I like them a lot! I took them on several trips and caught some real big fish.....I was skeptical at first, but became sold quickly. Simple Spiral systems is the best. If you need any help email me. Best of luck!
