Steelhead Rod

I have decided that my next rod will be for steelhead.

I am looking to build on a 7-wt medium action 10 ft blank. Preferably the blank would be a 3 or 4 piece.

Any recommendations or advise ?

Thanks.

A 4pc 10ft 7wt Dan Craft FT fits your description well. Can't beat the price either.

The Rainshadow IF 1007-3 in the olive green has been very popular. It also comes in matt grey.

My bias says get the St. Croix, 9'6" Ultra Legend 8 wt if you are fishing big rivers. Casts like a rocket with heavy sink tip lines with cone head flys. If you have to cast way out there, then get down to the fish fast, that will do it. Spendy, but just flat gets the job done.

I built a 13' float rod using a Rainshadow blank and absolutely love it. I've also built a few other using their blanks and they are great blanks for the money. If I were to build a fly rod, I'd start by looking @ Rainshadow blanks.
