Repairing matte finish

A blank I have is the sanded/no finish matte type. However there are a few shiny spots on the blank from rubbing. How would I best get the blank back to a uniform look? I thought about rubbing it down with gray Scotchbrite but I believe it would look best if polished somewhat with something after the Scotchbrite, but what with?

Thanks Raymond, I saw that article but I was wanting to know how to get the blank back it's it's original matte look (like a Lamiglas) with no applied finish. I found the info I needed in the "sanding a blank) thread below. I had just posted my question before seeing that one.
