Did some extra work the last few weeks and put away around $250 for a lathe. My first. Room is a factor so I want it to be portable enough to take outside and use on my shed work bench. Although turning cork will be the main job for this lathe, I suspect I will try to turn a few reel seats too. Any thoughts or experience with a lathe that fits this mold? Thanks Re: Lathe

The new Rikon midi-lathe is one heck of a deal. About $250 most places. Great value.

Ditto the Rikon, wish it had been on the market when I bought my lathe. I could really use that indexing feature and another couple inches of length. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
