What is the best method for removing excess U-40 LS Supreme rod finish? I screwed up and have football like wraps on one section.
Thanks, David Re: Removing excess Dura Gloss finish

When I had that problem, I carefully sanded down the high spots with the finest grit emory board I could find, then with very fine (320 grit) sandpaper to smooth it out. Recoat with a thin coat of finish, and you'll never know you fixed it.

Be very careful not to sand into the threads or you will be dealing with a bad case of the fuzzies. Believe me I did it. I also found that 200 grit will work fine for the grit, the new coat of epoxy will fill those sanding marks in OK with no visible scratches.
