Sponsors - Gunsmoke / TiCH ferrules - Anyone have them?

Before the show in Charlotte I was asked to make up a "stitchin' rod". The man sent me all the specifications from an article in a 20 year old book.. Thanks to Todd Vivian at Lamiglas for providing the rod blank to do this (CL901M). Per the customer's request I ferruled the blank with metal ferrules. All is well with that rod. Now however I've been asked to build another but using a PacBay Channel lock reel seat CL20M-C (TiCH) and would like to match the ferrules to the TiCH color of the reel seat. Do any of the sponsors have these? The size I'm looking for is either 28/64's or 26/64's (11 to 12 mm inside diameter).

So I'm finding out... I think I'll try "blueing" a set and see how that turns out.

Ken,

You might check out the Birchwood Casey black for aluminum/brass bluing, [www.birchwoodcasey.com] , I have used this on older fire arms and depending on the metal it is used on it has more of a gray/black , (gunsmoke?) color than the regular bluing. Just an idea?

Bob

Aluminum Black® Metal Finish
The room temperature chemical used by gunsmiths and industry to blacken aluminum parts. Restores scratched and marred areas quickly. Fast-acting liquid is easy to apply with no dimensional change. Color will vary from deep gray to black depending on alloy. ALUMINUM BLACK Metal Finish is also excellent for blackening name plates, plaques, trophies and other engraved items.

Brass Black Metal Touch-Up
Fast-acting liquid used by gunsmiths and industry to blacken or antique brass, copper and bronze parts. Easy to apply with no dimensional change. Often used to mark cartridge cases to identify loads. Excellent for blackening name plates, plaques, castings, sculptures and other home, workshop and hobby uses. Color varies depending on alloy and can be highlighted if desired

Thanks Bob - I've got a couple of (dozen) ferrules that I can play around with so I'll give it a try and let everyone know how they turn out.

Arcane make some Titanium Ferrules, but I think only in one size. [www.arcanecomponentworks.com]

Merrick sells them wholesale, we sell them retail. [www.ackfishing.com] Not sure if these are what you are looking for, but it's worth checking them out.
