Thanks Fred. Most of the main posters are well away from the carnage, however that doesn't cover the guys who just view the forum. I think the closest regular is Tedla (Ted) Morgan he is up at Townsville just to the south of the carnage. Re: Our Friends Down under

Thanks guys. Townsville got a fair bit of rain over the last couple of days, and strong winds, but little or no damage. Slight flooding and debris. Innisfail (about 2 hrs north) took a direct hit. The eye passed right over. Campus was closed yesterday. We are worried about Wati, which is following a similar westerly path, but is at a more Southerly latitude, which puts it on a possible path to TSV. We wait. Re: Our Friends Down under

To Ted and all residents of F.N.Q (Far North Queensland) I wish you all the best of luck with the devastating cyclones in your area. I hope all your families are safe and that your homes aren't damaged too badly. I understand "one persons loss can be another persons gain". By this, I mean I am really hoping some of the rain depression from those cyclones ends up in our parched catchment areas and begins to break the drought eperienced in many other parts of Australia including where I live. It has been a long while since I last saw the Darling River flowing or Menindee Lakes with any water in them.
Best Regards Outback (Broken HIll) Re: Our Friends Down under

Thanks Mark. This next one has taken a bit of a shift, but it looks like a wet and windy start to the weekend. Still about 500 K's offshore.
Maybe all the rain in the rivers will have people grabbing their rods, buying new ones or ordering new custom builds!! Best wishes to all, especially those in the already badly affected areas around Innisfail, Cardwell, Cairns. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
