matching guide wrap ring

Have any of you taken the same thread you used on your guide wraps and put a single or double wrap ring of it around your cork handle? How did you facilitate this? Was CP used? How did you seal it? Were you pleased with your results? Thanks

I have done several by making a very small grove in the cork with a file. While on the lath. Very slight .Then wrapping thread into this just as a guide wrap. One or two coats of clear with or with-out CP, your choise. If you put it right on the cork you will have a lump where the thread is, unless you clear the complete handle. Play with some scrap handle or cork pieces.

Come to think about it, they do have that 1/16 and 1/8 " thread bands. beats thin colors of rings ???
HHHMMMMMMM
