I want to build a 7' 3wt small stream rod, and I can't decide between the Lamiglas Appalachian Travel blank or the Blue Ridge blank. I have a 6' 6" AT, so I'm familiar with the action on that blank, but I've found very little info on the Blue Ridge blank, though it sounds intriguing ( Graphite butt, composite mid, glass tip). Has anyone here built or cast a Blue Ridge blank?? Any info would be appreciated.

The Blue Ridge rods feel very glasslike in operation except the graphite butt helps remove the "tail ragging the dog" feel of the usual slower glass butt section. I liked it a lot.
That said I have been a fan of the AT blanks since they first come out, the 4wt is better with a 5 wt line unless you have room to carry quite a bit of line, haven't tried the 3 wt you mention. Re: Lamiglas Light Fly Blanks..Opinons??

I would think that blank would be tip heavy with mid of composit and tip of glass ?? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
