For those who read my post about my "wolf man" grips.
Here are my results. After 15 min. of high speed sanding with 60grit paper and a few more minutes high speed filing I was able to reduce the length of the fibers by maybe 30% Resulting in a much better feel compaired to the full length fibers but still much longer fibers than the grips Lance Dupre sent me. After such abuse, the grip still looks great! The only difference is that is not quite as fuzzy now. Still not as short as I would like but much better. Funny thing though. The sand paper got very hot, almost burned my fingers but the grip wasn't even warm! The flocking is darn near buttlet proof! Try high speed sanding with 60 grit on any other handle material for 15 min.! I imagine if I continued the sanding for another 1/2 hr with breaks for my hand and paper to cool off, maybe, just maybe, this grip will resemble the other ones with the shorter fibers. If I had continued using my electric razor the other night I'm sure I would be buying a new razor! Note: The fibers that the sanding removed were very very small like dust. I dont advise sanding a flocked grip without using a particle mask! Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. thats good info.i was going to post to ask how they would hold up in rod holders.after reading this i get a pretty good idea. if they could take that kind of abuse, they should be able to hold up in rod holders. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
