"I have never chamfered a winding check. What am I missing or ignoring? If they do not fit tight against the cork though I have had problems with epoxy leaking up behind them and onto the cork which is a pain in the back side to clean up. " The chamfer on the back, inside diameter of the winding check gives the bit of excess epoxy somewhere to go so it does not sueeze out. Also, a rought chamfer gives something for the epoxy to grip. "You must have a heck of a lot better set of nippers than I have ever seen. All of the nippers that I have ever tried to use left a little nub behind." Same with me. I have never seen any scissors or nippers that will cut as close or are nearly as sharp as the very thin double edged razor. Re: Sharper is Better

Tim,
Thanks for the education. I am going to give your advice a try. Mike, What the heck is an anorak? Is that one of those funny British words? Should I be insulted or complimented? Or should that be complemented? I can never keep the different meaning of the two words straight. Re: Sharper is Better
