Rod as present

I already posted this question, but didn't use a valid user name.... sorry for the redundancy.

I'm going to start working on my first rod. It will be a spining rod. I am going to give this as a gift to one of my groomsman for being in my wedding party.

I'm looking for ideas of how/where to "personalize it". So far I thought of a nickel butt cap and engraving it with his name or initials . Would be open to doing something with a decorative wrap, but since this is my first rod, that may be too ambitious.

Another poster suggested a decal, like one from Decal Connection.

Any other ideas.

I personalize rods with an added touch. Name decal, city decal, occasion decal, color choice, and a well written Certificate of Origin for the Custom Rod with personal details along with a description of the rod will fit the bill very nicely. If you will confirm your email address on the board at the top in My Control Center I will send you a sample for you to consider.

I always have two or three made in case of my mistakes

I do that same thing, Barry. They are so cheap an extra decal is sound insurance.

Bill does this with flair, I hope you email him and ask for his "certificate."

Its a special rod for a special event....keep the rod clean and simple and after seeing what Bill Stevens and Swampland did with the "Katrina Series" give him a shout...not only will you get flair , but you'll get flair with heart , and humor as an added bonus.
