Cabela's XML revisited & Shikari SHX...

I've done a search and read all the postings on the Cabelas XML. Some date back a few years including a query of mine a while ago.

Anyways, anyone built with the XML in the past 12 months or so? In particular, any of their 7' and 7' 6" spin blanks? I ask about the last 12 months because they use various manufacturers and also claim to continue improving the blanks.

Asking because I've a coupon that gives me advantageous pricing for a few units.

In particular, curious as to how they compare to the like of the Shikary SHX if anyone has done a side by side comparison.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Mo

I built a 6' spinning rod on an XML blank as a customer request in June of 2003. The customer returned the rod about six months later due to breakage, Cablea's replaced the blank and I rebuilt it. I suspect the breakage was due to mistreatment of the rod. I built the same customer a 7' spinning rod in June of last year. No problems with this rod. In test casting the blanks appeared to perform well. For what its worht, that is the extent of my experience with these blanks

Thanks for responding.

Still all ears if anyone would chime in.
