Did anyone see the Lamiglas Texalium at the show? Any comments? Thanks, Ed Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/27/2006 08:08PM by Ed Grella. Re: Texalium Comments

Ed,
Not only did I see them, I bought 1 in blue and 1 in green to use for rods. I'm anxious to see how they work out. I'll probably use them on bass rods. Re: Texalium Comments

Sam, Does the end of the reel seat slide onto the tube, or butt up against it? Thanks, Ed Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/28/2006 10:50AM by Ed Grella. Re: Texalium Comments

I noticed Stan McLean recently posted a couple of pictures of an awesome setup with texillium on a split grip that might help answer your questions. Hope this helps.

[www.rodbuilding.org] Teh Largest size, I believe .980 butts up to certain reel seats. 15.5 tubing ( the smallest stuff) combined with a ESCM 15.5 will be a perfect fit for an carbon fiber false insert look like in teh second photo. Re: Texalium Comments

Steven and Billy, Thanks for the pic's!! Would a grip made out of Texalium be as light as one made from cork or Mooseskin? What is the texture of it? Slippery when wet? Thanks again! Ed Re: Texalium Comments

It's definately lighter than both. My woven graphite tubing (I colored mine myself) has a coating of epoxy on it. So it feels like any other hard material with a coat of finish on it. I suggest buying some and trying it for yuorself to decide if you like it. PErsonally, I do not like holding it, but I know others who have no problem with it at all. Re: Texalium Comments

What's the weight of the texalium per inch? Curious.
It looks super slick/slippery - how is it when wet? BEAUTIFUL looking. Thanks, Mo Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
