Will this work?

I have a decal with one coat of LS Supreme on it. The finish turned out a little wavy, so I would like to sand it down to even it out. My question is this: I know after it is sanded I will need to reapply another coat of something. I was wondering if Permagloss would work just to make it quicker. I've done this before with the LS, but never a combo of the two finishes. It seems that if the materials are compatible, you should be able to make a wipe with a foam brush or something for a quick finish.

Also, will the permagloss fill the sand marks like epoxy will? If so, how many coats for say...400 grit paper.

Thanks,

Eric

Don't mix and match like. Just sand it flat and apply another coat of epoxy. This was outlined in a photo tutorial in a past issue of RodMaker.

How to get perfectly level epoxy finishes every time is covered in the current issue of RodMaker.

Thanks Tom, I figured I should not mix. I was just looking for a little quicker way.

Eric when you put your finish on and use light coats, also while the rod is turning bend down and look at the bottom. The finish has a tendency to gravitate to the bottom of the blank. You should be able to see small pools forming, wick the pools off until the bottom of the finish looks flat. This is why I use a little heat. The heat makes the finish flow to the bottom of the rod while turning. Be careful some finishes cannot take heat. Heat is something you have to practice a bit with before doing it on a good blank
