Spinning guide - on ferrule or just underneath?

I know a lot of people like to orient a guide on a ferrule but on a 11' 2 piece spinning rod, my 10mm SIC Concept guide looks out of place on the ferrule of the upper section. However, if I move the guide ring down onto the lower section 1/2" underneath the ferrule, it looks good and even fits my spacing layout better. It would seem to me that a guide placed there would be a bit more durable and create less overall stress in that section of the blank than if it were placed right on the ferrule - nay or yeah? The greatest amount of stress is always directly halfway between any pair of guides. So moving it onto or just off the ferrule isn't going to change the amount of stress on the ferrule by much.

use static guide placement to determine guide placement, not looks. It won't hurt the ferrule a bit, however I prefer to put the guides on the ferrule if possible, you have to wrap it anyway. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
