Hey guys. I am in a major jam. I did an 8 axis chevron on the ferrule and had both rods together while wraping it. After i tied it off i realized i couldnt get the 2 pieces apart. I tugged and tugged but could split them. What should i do? Any ideas?
Sincerely, Dan Colville Re: 2 piece stuck together while building

moral of this episode DONT WRAP SO TIGHT next time you dont need to wrap so tight that you deform the blank you set up undue stress in it when you do Re: 2 piece stuck together while building

Thread tension is culmlative and when you make that many winds, even under only moderate tension, you end up with quite a bit of tension on the blank. I suspect the tie-off was the major culprit since we often make that one a bit more snug than usual.
What you may have to do, is CP your wrap or even finish it, before doing the tie-off wrap. Then once that has cured, do your tie-off but under much less pressure. ........... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
