AmTak Matrix reel seat

I've got a 6 weight Rainshadow RX7 that I'm looking to build on. I saw a color photo of the AmTak Matrix reel seat, the one with "woven graphite twill inserts," and the shade of green on the reel seat looks like it might go well with the shade of green on the RX7 blank. Of course, it's hard to tell from an online photo, so can anyone tell me if they've used this combination of blank and reel seat before? And aside from matching well, is this a decent reel seat for a 6 weight that'll be used mostly in freshwater (shad, specifically) and maybe a little bit of light salt?

best,

Dave

The colors are fairly similar (unless Batson Enterprises has changed their green anytime lately). The seat is nice. Works well.

PacBay also offers the same uplocking woven green insert reel seat without the collar adjacent to the cork grip in case that would interest you and yes I just finished an RX7 with that reel seat and they go quite well together.

Since it's a Batson blank, you could use their graphite reelseat also to get a good match.

The "Twill" or the woven weave of the Matrix incert is bigger, more pronunced, and not as fine/tight as PacBays version..They both appear dark at a distance, The green on the matrix is a lighter, a slightly lighter shade/hue, it is more notable as Green in lower light levels compared to the PacBay version. The PacBay incert has a tighter weaved and is a darker green possiblly due to the density of the weave. If one were to describe the colors of both incerts they would have to be called HUNTER GREEN. and compatable in shade to Gudebrod Nylon Dark. Green 5896 The Matrix has brighter SS-like hoods while the Pacbay only comes with darker Tich hoods. I like using the Matrix when I plan on highlighting the rod with met silver tags and SS framed alconites. I will then use a dark hunter green thread wraps. I use the Pacbay seat when blk. framed guides are used, with a Tich winding check and hook keeper, in either case a dark green 5896 mainfield thread color looks good. I am inerested to see how Gudebrods new Olive green 1892 or their medium green 6779 look in contrast to Rainshadow's, Matrix's and Pacbay's Greens. I'd say the Rainshadow RX7 blank will be a lighter shade of green than the incerts as it takes good direct sunlight to make them really show their true colors. I once saw a Blue Woven weave incert , but they wanted $35 frosties for it, no way, but I envisioned placing it on a blue GL-2 Blank
