Doing some extensive rod refurbishing. Need to change black rods to white. Which spray paint is better when using permagloss as the finish?
Thank you. Rick PS: Never used Madeira thread before. Could some one tell me which size Madeira is equal to size A? to size B? Capt. Don't know about the paint. THe Madeira that you want is the #40 Polyneon, which is just a little smaller than A (largest they have), Because of the coating on it, CP has to be used. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Best Paint Under Permagloss and Madeira ???

just use automotive spray paint in thin coats then finish with permogloss or a model areoplane 2pack laquer/fuel proofer called Flexicote (you may be able to get it in the states check out your local "model shop" main suppliers are deluxematerials.com) Re: Best Paint Under Permagloss and Madeira ???

Consulting the Tome of Universal Harmony
Gudebrod (and most other Makers) Size A .006" 40wt polyester or Nylon Sewing Thread .005" I am presently using white appliance epoxy spray paint for the areas under my dec wraps but I don't know if it is appropriate to use it to repaint a whole rod as I have problems getting coverage on a dark blank without quite a few coats. I have had a similar experience with Krylon For Plastic Spray Paints. I am presently experimenting with airbrushing using Createx Auto Air Spray Paints with better success. Conventional wisdom often mentioned on the board and thoroughly covered in the archives would be to use tinted Permagloss to "paint the blank" Permagloss is designed for rod work and has proven to be VERy flexable even when tint is added.
