Rod Builders Show Hotels...

The Westin is now sold out for the show. Two other nearby hotels are:

Downtown Holiday Inn
[charlotte-hotels.tripadvisor.com]

Days Inn
[charlotte-hotels.tripadvisor.com]

The Holiday Inn is about 5 or 6 blocks north of the Convention Center. The Day's Inn is further up the street, about 12 blocks up.

Use this link to find even more. There are tons of hotels in downtown Charlotte, from basic to very ritzy.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn last year - great hotel. The food in the Hotel restaurant was just GREAT, and priced right. I may stop there to eat again this year.

The restuarants in Charlotte all looked good, I wish I had more time to eat at them. Maybe by 2008 I will have tried them all.

Billy --- I don't think the full-time residents of Charlotte could sample all the restaurants! As for "experience" maybe Bob McCamey, Coach, John & Todd can 'educate you' in a fine dining (and other) experience in Charlotte....

Billy,
You can tell what kind of restaurant that you like, Holiday Inns and cheap? I am sure that Charlotte has some very fine restaurants but being from New York you should get into Manhattan once in awhile and try some of the best restaurants in the world. I wish that I was as close as you are. If I were I would not get within a block of a Holiday Inn. Fine dinning is just one of life's little pleasures like fine wine, fine ladies and MAYBE rod building. I think that you should expand your horizons a little. Take Ken out to a really nice restaurant in Charlotte and maybe you can stick him with the check.

Billy,
check out the Rock Bottom. Ken really likes that place too.
