Works fine for me. Soak the threads good the first time, dap off excess, rotate, let dry. Lightly coat the second (and third, if necessary) time. I deal mostly in silk. Re: Al's premium cane products color preserver

Als. stuff is designed for Silks. I have been useing it for 5 years on silks and it's the only stuff I have found to work good on silks and useing varnish on wraps. I have not tried useing regular finishes on silks after useing Als stuff.
